Dear Potential New Members,
I am so excited for you all to experience the journey of going through Primary Recruitment at the University of Kentucky. It is truly an incredible experience that will lead you to your forever home in the Panhellanic community.
The Recruitment process led me home to Alpha Delta Pi in the Fall of 2020 during my freshman year of college. I would say my experience was especially unique because 2020 Recruitment was held on Zoom due to the worldwide pandemic. You may wonder how I was able to connect with girls and have a meaningful recruitment experience through a computer screen, and trust me I thought the same thing at first, but when I talked to all Panhellenic houses, especially Alpha Delta Pi, I felt so comforted and accepted even if it was through a screen. My connections with the ladies in Alpha Delta Pi started from my very first round of Open House where I talked to complete strangers that felt like lifetime friends after just one short conversation. Through the next rounds of Philanthropy and Sisterhood I continued to fall in love with Alpha Delta Pi when given the opportunity to talk to more and more amazing women who embodied all the qualities I wanted to see in myself after four years of college. During the Alpha Delta Pi Preference Round I knew I was home and that no other place could make me feel as fulfilled as I did when in the virtual presence of the women of Alpha Delta Pi. From feeling so connected to these people and this organization through technology, I knew the feeling would only grow immensely once I had the opportunity to meet them in person. From the moment I hugged the first Adpi sister on bid day until today, starting my senior year of college, I have loved every moment in the sisterhood of Alpha Delta Pi and have only felt my connection to this organization grow with each day of membership while surrounded by the most incredible women who uplift me and push me to be the best version of myself.
Taking a leap of faith and starting this process is the very first step to your recruitment journey and the path to finding your forever home + sisters, just like I did three years ago.
As the Fall 2023 Recruitment season quickly approaches, I want to encourage each of you to believe in yourselves and realize how amazing you already are. Joining a sorority at the University of Kentucky will only continue to help you grow into the person you want to become one day. Take time to recognize your core values and take pride in those as they are a part of what got you here today and will continue to lead you through the recruitment process. Stay true to your authentic self and understand that your forever home will love and accept you for the real version of yourself.
I know it can be stressful and especially scary to open yourself up to the Recruitment process, but if you truly lean into it and trust the process it has a way of working out exactly how it is meant to. Remember to take time for yourself along the journey and try to have fun with your experience so it is one you look back on with pride and sentimental enjoyment.
I am beyond excited to meet each and every one of you as you walk through the blue door at 476 Rose St. where I call home at Alpha Delta Pi.
Loyally,
Lexi Rezelj
