Dear AC ‘22,
It’s cliche to say “get ready for the best four years of your life,” but when I say it, I mean it. Joining Alpha Delta Pi at the University of Kentucky isn’t just joining a sorority, it’s joining a sisterhood that spans way beyond the collegiate experience. When you walk across Rupp Arena’s graduation stage in the spring of 2026, I promise you - you’ll be a better woman than you were walking into ADPi’s azure blue door in just a few short months. Don’t join ADPi for the woman you presently are, join ADPi for the woman you want to be!
Going through recruitment as an ADPi legacy, I made every effort not to like ADPi. I, like many, living three hours away from home, wanted college to be a brand-new experience and following in my mom’s footsteps didn’t seem like the way to accomplish that. However, after shutting my computer screen on the first day of open house Zoom recruitment, I knew I’d be denying myself the connections to kind, ambitious, loving, and service-oriented women if I didn’t give ADPi the chance. Oh, the memories and experiences I would’ve missed out on!
I would’ve missed flying halfway across the country with my closest friends during the middle of the semester to horseback ride in Arizona, the hard, but rewarding work we all put into our Greek Sing dance, the beach and lake trips where we’ve laughed so hard we’ve cried, the late nights in the Pi Palace where we gathered in room #204 with Mom Kitty, the sleepovers watching our favorite movies over and over again, and the formals where we danced all night long to “Halo” and “Really Really.” I had a feeling these women and this sisterhood were something special, and I was right.
When you join ADPi, you’ll find sisters as fiercely loyal as Jenna Rampenthal and Claire Cullen who believe in every endeavor you’ve ever tried to conquer, like Anna Lee Meyer and Madylin Farago who help you through your lowest lows and cheer you on through your highest highs, like Lauren Grant and Angela Greenwell who push you to be a better version of yourself than you were the day before, and like Becca Chastain and Jane Durbin who will make you laugh harder than anyone you’ve ever met.
You’ll find a Diamond Family like Kennedy Dotson and Rachel Whitehouse who you’ll have an instant connection with.
You’ll find friend groups so big you name it none other than Organized Chaos.
You’ll find upperclassmen like Claire Dzan and Meghan Sharma who become your role models and that make you cry when they graduate.
You’ll find leadership opportunities on campus like having the chance to serve on your Executive Board and make a true difference in your chapter and off-campus like sharing the Miss Kentucky stage with your sisters.
You’ll find service opportunities that assist the Ronald McDonald House Charities that leave you with a feeling of fulfillment that’s impossible to find anywhere else.
You’ll find the motivation and encouragement from your sisters to explore facets of campus you’ve never once thought of.
But, most importantly, you’ll find your home at 476 Rose Street.
This summer, as you’re stalking every Panhellenic Instagram account, watching sorority vlogs on YouTube, and dreaming of Bid Day, (just like I was), just know, ADPi will be patiently waiting for you to experience life as a Diamond! Can’t wait to hug you on the lawn!
